Safety Arms began in 1999 when two seasoned professionals, each masters in their respective fields, recognized a shared need for safer, more effective firearm handling. Jon Hunt, a Senior Engineer and Scientist specializing in complex weapon systems, approached Lance Larson, a veteran Property Master/Armorer who worked with firearms on movie sets.
Their initial collaboration focused on the E-Gun™, a high-tech simulator intended solely for the motion picture industry to eliminate the dangers of traditional firearms and blanks in production. For years, they refined this system, combining Jon's deep knowledge of engineering and simulation with Lance's practical, real-world handling experience in high-pressure environments.
The partnership found its true calling when Lance began transitioning away from the motion picture industry to dedicate his expertise to firearms training for civilians and law enforcement. Recognizing the immense potential of their advanced technology to fill a critical gap in safe, realistic training, they strategically reoriented their development efforts.
They leveraged Jon’s patented Weapon Emulator System to develop and manufacture the T-Gun™. Jon created the core T-Gun™ technology, utilizing his over four decades of defense engineering rigor, while Lance provided critical, real-world handling and safety specifications. This ensured the training device wasn't just technically sophisticated, but perfectly matched the needs of serious firearms users. The T-Gun™ system is thus born from a fusion of Jon's scientific precision and Lance's professional safety discipline, all aimed at empowering individuals with the confidence and critical decision-making skills needed to protect themselves and their loved ones without the risks and costs of live fire.
